Love this place. Great value for the $$. Hot tub, book exchange, great common lounge, free rice and pasta and spices and oil in the kitchen. And the staff was terrific. Enjoy!

Some good points: Staff were friendly, and the location was good - nice and close to local supermarket and the I-site. Bad points: Girls bathrooms were very messy. I don't think they were clean during our stay. The bedding could also have done with a clean. Kitchen wasn't too bad but also could have been checked more regularly for cleanliness.... More

Staff were very helpful and very friendly, but the place was outdated and needed a thorough cleaning. The sheets in the bedroom were stained and the bathrooms were not clean.

This was one of the first backpackers I stayed in, in my 6 month tour of New Zealand. I've stayed in plenty of hostels throughout my trip since then but this still ranks as one of the best ever! The rooms are dated, mattresses rather thin, but the place is clean and the owners so warm and friendly that the... More
