This motel is a bit dated but is I believe gradually being upgraded. It is set back off the rather busy main road, but still suffers some road noise especially from lorries calling at the service station next door. Our room was very satisfactory, but would benefit from a few hooks around the place. We came in soaking wet one... More

This motel is what it is! Our very reasonable tariffs reflect in part our prime position by a road, but then a Motor Lodge without that connection would be a little odd. The occasional traffic noise apart, we have managed to produce quality rooms at budget prices, and long term, double-glazing is on our wish list for sure. However in... More

I travelled to New Zealand in January 2012 & for the most part, stayed with friends. I did not know anyone in Rotorua so googled the places to stay. Faith from Rotorua Motor Lodge was incredibly quick to reply to my email & to further queries. When I said that I was arriving by coach at the opposite end of... More

The owners, Tim and Faith, say that they want to make the Motor Lodge the best budget accommodation in Rotorua. We think they're doing a great job at reaching that goal. Tim gave us a friendly welcome on arrival. We had just gone to our room (which surprised us with its cleanliness) when Tim knocked on the door and offered... More

When we arrived the outside didnt look the greatest but we were greeted by... More

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. It was clean and tidy, with comfortable beds, lovely hosts and in a great spot. I was really worried when I saw the BP place so close but it really wasn't a problem. The free internet was very welcome, and the owners are clearly making every effort to make this a top quality... Stayed at the lodge between Christmas and the New Year , and enjoyed it immensley, Host was very friendly and had a warm manor, Rooms were more than adequate and clean as where the amenities. The area was not as noisy as i had thought with the garage so close but its coffee is a bonus.

Stayed in motel with 3 adults, a child and infant for 2 nights. Excellent clean rooms, and the tripple sheeting means that we knew all the bedding was clean - no dirty bedspread here. Most comfortable bed I have slept on in a motel, even more comfortable than some of the 5* hotels I've stayed in. Great being located next... More

Substantial savings over my conference venue a stone's throw away. Next to Wild Bean Cafe a great convenience for sundry and grocery needs. Spacious room (stayed in Studio plus), Freeview on wide-screen TV with DVD player and free wifi internet all in great working order. 2 Canvas artworks in-room a nice touch for a value-oriented property. Well-equipped kitchenette. Loved that... More

Our school group stayed here overnight during a two-week self-booked tour of Australia and New Zealand. High school students can be difficult to please, but everyone in our group gave this hotel top ratings! Rooms are spacious, immaculately clean, equipped with fridge, and nicely furnished. There is also free internet. Everyone got a good night's sleep; we did not hear... More

I stayed here while visiting Rotorua. There were other places that provided views of the geysers, but I decided to stay here because it was one of the few places that advertised free wireless internet, and it actually had free wireless internet. The owner was extremely helpful, and gladly made some recommendations as to what I should visit. The room... More
