The Edgewater's location was great for us, central so we could explore on foot. Room was spacious enough for 3 adults, bathroom big enough, and kitchenette served well for breakfast. Our ground floor room shared a terrace area with ~3 other rooms, with tiny plunge pool, with a tall fence and plantings separating it from the sidewalk on Marine Parade....

Great location across the road from the ocean. Had a great view from our upstairs room. The room was quite small but had everything that we needed for an overnight stay. Very friendly hosts. Would stay again.

We have stayed at this motel 5+ years each New Year holiday. Great sea views as it is right on marine Parade, and easy walk to town. We stopped in Napier for one night to see the much written about Art Deco architecture. In bleak wind and rain finding a room took on a different priority to that which must surely be evident in peak summer. I don't doubt there might well be more lavish establishments in the neighbourhood, but Edgewater more than satisfied our needs.

Stayed for two nights in October 2011. Motel unit was spotless. Nice views of the sea.
Hosts very friendly on check in. Even though its close to the road, it was very quiet.
Couldnt hear much of the neighbours either.
