We were a large group and had booked about 7-8 units about a year in advance, but were shocked at the price which had been boosted for the Art Deco weekend, although we stayed 5 nights and had the same price for the whole time. Very dated units, hosts complaining about how much work we were causing them! We won't... More

This was the only accomodation we could get for the Mission Concert when we booked in August. We were very disappointed with the standard of the unit we stayed in. It was very dated (like the 1980's), had two broken windows, rips in the curtains, very stained carpet, drapes didn't meet in the middle. A double bed in the main... More

McLean Park Lodge had the only room avaliable at short notice in Napier on a busy Easter weekend. Given that some of the earlier reviews were less than flattering, we booked in with some trepidation. However, we were pleasantly surprised by both the standard of the units and the friendly service provided. The units are clean, relatively spacious and the... More

Three of stayed here on Tuesday 1st of February, we were in Napier for the one day cricket and chose to saty here. The room (14) was clean and tidy, and the owners were very friendly and helpful. And the temp been 30, the pool was so good. And a stone throw away from the cricket. Matt wallace Palmerston North More

I have read that the owners have done a lor to upgrade the rooms so the mind boggles to what they were like before. The rooms are very dated and my wife , fussier than me, didn't feel comfortable here. On the positive side, the motel is on a good plot with plenty of room and rooms are good sized.... More

Being a seasoned traveller, I have done everything from sleeping in a tent at Reid's Farm to leering it up in the Duxton's Presidential West suite. By far, McLean Park stands out as the only motel that I have felt the need to write a review for. For $150.00 per night, we got carpet that belongs in a casino lounge... More

My wife and I and friends recently spent several weeks travelling the length and breadth of the North and South islands of New Zealand staying at accommodation recommended by the holiday maker reports within the Trip Adviser columns. Although the general standard of accommodation was found to be high as reported and costs reasonable, there was bound to be one... More

Booked this motel on boxing day morning for that night after last minute plans meant we had to travel to Napier, and the places we usually stayed at were fully booked and we did not want to try our luck by not booking anywhere with 4 kids with us. On arrival we were made to pay upfront, never done this... More

we take all comments seriously and we are sorry this guest felt dissatisfied. In reception and every one of our apartments we ask for feedback from our guests in order to improve our service. if the comments had been made personally at the time we could have utilized any contructive critizism and acted accordingly. we have upgraded our units but... The McLean Park Motel is run by Alan and Lynn, a Yorkshire couple who have run top quality hotels in Cornwall for many years. Taking on the Motel is their idea of taking it easy!! It is obvious that they have put a lot of time and effort into bringing their units up to scratch. They are well equipped, with... More

We were touring the North Island of New Zealand, and picked this motel out of the many available in Napier because of its convenient location - just a 5 minute walk to the beach and a 15 minute walk to the centre of town. It is also in a quiet location. The motel is surrounded by a well maintained lawn... More
