We stayed here for three nights at the beginning of November as a stop over on our way home from tasmania. Our main reason for chosing this motel was that due to it being Carnival week IE: Melbourne Cup, all the inner city hotel/apartments i contacted had a minium of 5 nights stay, which was longer than we required. The motel was a little further out of the city than I had thought, a good 25 mins on the train which is a short 5min walk from the motel. The train line stops at the Zoo. My kids loved the train ride so wasn't too much of a problem. The rooms are basic but comfortable an are serviced everyday. the staff were friendly and welcoming. A seperate guest laundry was available and a quiet private shared courtyard outback was a nice place to sit on the warm evenings. It is located on a busy road, although it is rarely only background noise and didn't keep us awake. There is a couple of takeaways and a supermarket two train stops on line (coburg).
