We stayed at Robinsons in the City for 3 nights whilst in Melbourne for the Australian Tennis Open. Paul was an excellent host, very helpful and friendly. The location is great a 10 min walk to the tram and 15 mins to the CBD. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. The facilities were great, tea and coffee anytime and the... More

Leone, I hope you got the package OK, I did have to talk my way through collecting it at the post office! I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us and also the tennis this year and you liked my breakfasts. You have highlighted one of our strongpoints "location" which offers easy access to the city, docklands and southbank.... More

Paul was a great host with loads of helpful tips, always obliging and friendly(good as a crossword companion). Very efficient in booking trips not just for me but other guests. It was more like staying with friends than a B and B. One could help themselves to tea or coffee at any time of the day or night. The room... More

Hey mahl_12, thanks for talking the time to write your review of Robinsons. I have taken onboard your "little gripe" regarding bathroom housekeeping and will ensure that the standard lifts in that area. I am glad, that on the whole you were more than happy with Robinsons, our guest services and you appreciated the crossword completion assistance!! Cheers, Paul. More

Nicel, Thank you for reviewing your stay with us on TripAdvisor. Adding the personal touches is what makes us different from the mainstream properties. It is always the one-percent things people do for you that you remember and makes a holiday special. I'm glad you enjoyed the tours, the fresh blueberry pancakes and the little Japanese restaurant that is a... More

After reading the many positive reviews of this B&B on this very website, we booked our accommodation with RITC. From the very beginning, with the initial booking phone call, Paul was attentive, honest, courteous, organised and thoughtful. Emails were responded to promptly and Paul also offered to take care of booking our day trip tours too. The location and room... More

After three days of meetings in Melbourne, and city hotels, this was the perfect place to stay and unwind. Formerly a 19th century bakery - and baker's house; quiet; spotlessly clean ( in contrast to the inner city hotel); comfortable; wonderfully located on the edge of both the CBD and Docklands; a minute's stroll to La Trobe Street and the... Amyrlin, Firstly, I'm sorry that you found the flatscreen LCD TV in the guestroom too small and we didnt have the claw foot bathtub that you had imagined. Al least we didnt have a picture of one and when you turned up it wasn't there! But if these are the only negatives you could come up with - then I... More

We have been to Melbourne before, but this is the first time we have stayed in a B&B. We really loved the atmosphere at Robinson's. It is roomy and inviting. Our room was stylish and warm and very comfortable. Paul was always available to help with various details, such as new cellphone and holding luggage for us for a few... More

Rose, I am glad that you appreciated the "little things" that a B&B can offer guests over the larger city hotels and that you tried a B&B for the first time. I think they are a fantastic alternative to the mainstream accommodation options around the world. Cheers, Paul. More

Staying here now, and using their free wi-fi to post this review. Also sipping cup of tea from the delicious varieties available in-room or downstairs in the butler's pantry. We came here for a city short-break and chose Robinsons based on trip advisor reviews. Nothing is too much trouble. It's like staying with friends who say "Make yourself at home"... More

Thanks for your extensive "realtime" review. It shows that the wi-fi really works and that the new range of specialty teas are appreciated. It does make life easier when things like car-parking and and a full cooked breakfast are included in the rate. The little things are those that we pride ourselves on and I'll make sure I pass on... We stayed here for a few days when visiting family in Melbourne. It's in a more interesting part of Melbourne, close by Festival Hall which brought back a few memories. The B & B is well decked out. We are in an interesting part of Melbourne. A real blend of the old (Festival Hall, etc) and the new (Docklands, etc). Which makes for a vibrant location. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and chose to review us. I just want to clarify the bathroom situation for other tripadvisor users - the bathrooms for 5 of our rooms are... More

We have stayed at Robinsons on many occasions over the past 9 years. Each time we have found this B&B gives superb personal service.
