Miami is well located within walking distance of centre of town and local restaurants close by too. Although the rooms aren't large they are functional and clean and serviced each day. We stayed in the miami hotel melbourne in the mid March 2012 for 3 nights. It is far from CBD, not for walking, instead do take the tram, that stops 5 min fr the hotel. Stayed here for 4 nights. It is situated quite a distance away from the city centre and the best option would be to take the tram. clean place, very affordable and friendly staff. the common areas were a bit of a disappointment. not really any place for you to sit and eat your dinner. the doors to the rooms slammed a bit noisy and would easily wake you up. still, definitely staying here next time i'm in melbourne.

There are no lifts, which was dissapointing as myself and daughter had big suitcases and I had to lug them up 2 flights of stairs. Other than that it was clean and tidy, the staff were very helpful at the desk. Would maybe consider staying again if I had smaller bags.

Stayed here for 3 nights over St Patrick's weekend. Stayed in a 4 bed dorm with 3 mates and it was perfect for us with a nice shower and good beds. Bit of a trek outside the CBD but the the price reflects this.

Room is nice, but one receptionist is not so friendly. Location is a bit far from CBD, only near to queen Victoria market.
