I stayed at this hotel for a conference in April. The hotel was fine, reasonably comfortable but i'm writing this review mainly due to the service at the front desk. I arrived around 7pm - it had been a long day. The concierge was uninterested and barely looked up from the desk when I asked where the carpark was. He... More

We just returned from a great 4 day escape to Melbourne from Sydney. It was our first visit to Melbourne and it did not disappoint. The Jasper met all of our requirements in a hotel. It was great value for money and in a very central location. We walked everywhere and found that the Jasper was very close to all... More

Hi katelyn1986... I am very pleased your enjoyed your stay at the Jasper! It really is a sensational location here right next door to the Queen Victoria Market, Elizabeth Street tram outside the door a a short stroll to Melbourne's awesome eateries, bars and shopping! Appreciate very much your comments about the team - everyone does go out of their... More

Jasper Hotel is a good choice if you're looking for a convenient base at a reasonable price. The hotel is actually a not-for-profit hotel and the proceeds go to a women's shelter in Richmond. The location of the women's shelter used to be at the hotel but they renovated it into a hotel with the conference facilities on the ground... More

Hi callipris... appreciate your comments however just to clarify, profits from the Jasper Hotel do not go to a womens shelter! The Jasper is wholly owned by the YWCA which is committed to supporting womens propgrams in the community not just in Victoria, but in fact throughout the world - 30 million members at last count! Many, many programs are... More

We'd definitely book this hotel again next time we're in Melbourne. The location is perfect, with a tram stop right in front, and Victoria Market just across a side street. In fact, while we were shopping at Victoria, we used the Jasper Hotel sign visible from the stalls as our compass so we won't get lost. The front staff is... More

Hi sojourner0907... Many thanks for your review on the Jasper! After your comments I certainly do not need to extol the virtues of our location - being next to Queen Victoria Market and all this region has to offer in terms of inexpensive eateries, bars, etc is sensational - hard to beat! I am sorry there was not an adapter... More

Nice hotel but a bit noisy at he front with the trams (not to mention the garbage men every morning)... On the whole it's not a bad little place and near to the Victoria Markets. Staff quite friendly..... didn't think much of the restaurant though (bit expensive for what it was). We got a 2 for 1 there on the... More

Hi Joyce M... Appreciate your comments, though a little unsure of the "2 for 1" you were on as we don't have any deals like that at the Jasper? Not to worry, I do hope the team were able to work everything out to your satisfaction. We think we're in one of the best locations in the city too -... More

Despite some questionable reviews, I found Jasper to be a great experience. I loved the quirky colours (we stayed on the pink floor) and the black ceilings... I loved the coloured louvres in the bathroom. Clean comfortable and close to everything. Great service and an overall pelasant experience - Thank You!

Hi NurseBec06... Will definitely organise for you to be on the "pink floor" again!! I guess the hotel is a little quirky in the colour scheme respect, but then that's what makes the Jasper stand out from the crowd a little. Really appreciate your comments and look forward to welcoming you back again ...Tony More

Top service, Top staff, just too bad its way up in the north just outside the CBD. I would come here again if the price was right!

Hi vermilion777... So pleased you enjoyed your time at the Jasper and thank you so much for your compliments toward our staff and service!! The location is good close to the markets and a few blocks walk to the centre of the city. The reception staff were friendly and efficient. The rooms are basic. There is an attempt to make them jolly by painting each floor in a bright colour. This might work for some people, but I have a negative reaction to apple... More

Hi JulZe ...I am pleased that you stayed with us at the Jasper and enjoyed our great location next to Queen Victoria Market. The website led me to expect a vibrant, trendy, arty hotel. In fact it quite basic and a bit dull. The rooms are small and sparsely furnished (bed, desk, chair and ... that's it) and if they've gone for a modern minimalist look they've gone a bit too far because really it is quite bleak. Some artwork in the bedrooms... More

We booked here last minute when we got stuck in Melbourne due to unforeseen circumstances. Going by reviews we thought this hotel would be a safe bet. we were bitterly disappointed. • My biggest complaint would be about the manager Tony, he is the rudest most arrogant man you are likely to meet, that is even if he can be... Hi Anne-Marie... Many thanks for your comments! Whilst not complimentary I respect them and appreciate you taking the time to comment. May I address your points individually: 1.
