Jasper Hotel is a good choice if you're looking for a convenient base at a reasonable price. The hotel is actually a not-for-profit hotel and the proceeds go to a women's shelter in Richmond. We'd definitely book this hotel again next time we're in Melbourne. The location is perfect, with a tram stop right in front, and Victoria Market just across a side street. In fact, while we were shopping at Victoria, we used the Jasper Hotel sign visible from the stalls as our compass so we won't get lost.

Hi sojourner0907... Many thanks for your review on the Jasper! After your comments I certainly do not need to extol the virtues of our location - being next to Queen Victoria Market and all this region has to offer in terms of inexpensive eateries, bars, etc is sensational - hard to beat!

Despite some questionable reviews, I found Jasper to be a great experience. I loved the quirky colours (we stayed on the pink floor) and the black ceilings... I loved the coloured louvres in the bathroom. Clean comfortable and close to everything. Great service and an overall pelasant experience - Thank You!
Hi NurseBec06... Will definitely organise for you to be on the "pink floor" again!! I guess the hotel is a little quirky in the colour scheme respect, but then that's what makes the Jasper stand out from the crowd a little. The website led me to expect a vibrant, trendy, arty hotel. In fact it quite basic and a bit dull.
