This hotel is now the City Garden Hotel, and, for the most part, is ok. The location is exceptional, it really is. Everything is in easy reach, Hardware Lane, the Mall, QV Markets, Flinders and Southern Cross Station, all of it. Where it failed, was the rooms were tiny, the bed hard, and the the rooms just looked tired. The... More

We spent 3 nights here - really well located, within easy walking distance of everything and many food and drink options around. We were in a 'studio' room which seemed a bit tired but was clean. The 'kitchenette' seemed too small to be of use really, so we didn't use it. I didn't like the fact that we had to... More

Just spent 6 nights here and very happy. Cheapest in the area, considering the great location - just 10 metres walk to Hardware Lane, with restaurants, wine bars and cafes (recommend Max - fantastic, garlicky bolognese) and one block to Bourke St Mall. Lots of cheaper restaurants a 5 min walk down to Elizabeth St, where you'll also find the... More

We were looking for somewhere reasonably priced and central for a weekend in Melbourne. My husband and I stayed 2 nights and had no complaints. The location is perfect for exploring melbourne on foot and the studio, although small, was clean and comfortable. The TV is small and wall mounted, but who wants to be watching TV with the city... Stayed here for a night whilst 'passing through Melbourne.' The hotel appears to have had a recent face lift and name change. We stayed in a twin share studio apartment. It was clean and well presented and a bonus to have the kitchenette if you didn't want to eat out. Saying that though the biggest positive for this hotel is... More

City Garden Hotel, Melbourne (Formerly Leo Pacific) - not great. Very average & best suited for young backpackers or kids on a cheap holiday. Stayed over a w/end & didn't sleep either night due to the horrific noise. Saturday night we had abusive drunks pouring out of local bars up until 5am, & Sunday night we had the garbage collectors... The name of this hotel has been changed to Crown Gardens. Affordable accommodation in the heart of Melbourne. The apartments are small but totally adequate as a place to sleep between shopping expeditions. The location is ideal for those travelling to Melbourne for shopping; the main shopping precinct is a short walk away as is the Vic Market and the... More
