My experience at the Urban was very much a mixed bag to be honest, our intial stay was for 1 week though found ourselves in a windowless room which was awkard knowing what time of day it was or even what clothes to throw on for the day. Nice roommates though and was clean enough. Second week, was in a... more

Didn't expect to be staying in a mixed dorm. There should be a joke that starts "A Brit, a Scot, and an Irishman walk into a Canadian". Their socks stank and it was easily the most interesting experience of the decade. It was safe, and it was fun. more

Noisy. Staff not friendly. Told us they provide free car park but the car park is actually shared with a bar, so even if the car park is not full, they may tell you the car park is fully occupied as well, because they need to reserve for bar, etc. more

Worst first experience in a backpackers. They changed my room three times so you could imagine me lugging my stuff around for 2 hours. Let me describe: 1st room: Someone occupied my bed & locker. 2nd room: Upon entering, I saw someone sleeping on my bed. 3rd room: Finally I had my room. It was clean, but the bathroom had... more

I stayed at Urabn Central from October 2007 until March 2008 and loved it. Being a solo backpacker, I was concerned that I would feel isolated and find it hard to get to know fellow travellers but found that the relatively small dorm rooms (maximum 4 per room) meant that it was easy to make friends with my fellow room... more

Upon my arrival I found urban central a very nice and clean, check in went smoothly. The hostel seems very renovated and great at first, however the shower walls were transparent (weird) and the water was too cold. At nights it can get too noisy and I ran into drunk males in the female toilets so security was not the... more

I paid $104 a night for a private room, -It was freezing and the heater didnt work, when I reminded them of this I was very rudely mocked by staff and handed a personal heater. Although it looks modern and clean, it isn't. I wanted to sleep on the floor rather than in the filthy bed. I'm not sure if... more

Stayed here for a week in May, the hostel is huge with a really big kitchen but had one main issue there was no control. Dont get me wrong I like to have a drink just as much as the next person but this place is of the scales. You would walk in at 3pm and people would be on... more
