Stayed here with a friend during the Christmas break. The location was great, perfect for exploring the city. However this came at a cost as we were in a room opposite the main street. The room was very hot so we had to keep the window open, meaning we were woken up by street cleaners at 6am every morning! The... More

Thank you for writing a comprehensive review. We will seek further help with Hobart City Council because 6am is earlier than allowed by the cities by-laws, but we apologise that you were woken so early. Thanks for staying with us on the second occasion, and we are glad that you found the staff to be friendly and helpful once again.... More

Photos on the website are very misleading. The accommodation is very tired and for the money, not great value. The floor board in the hallway is incredibly noisy when people walk down the hall and woke us up many times a night. The staff were lovely and the location is fantastic.

Unfortunately the photos you saw on our 'profile' are not our photos. It was misleading because it was not us! Sorry for that. We have now jumped through the hoops and will be updating the photos if we can to be a correct representation of our business. I completely understand that you were disapointed - I would be too. We stayed two nights in a twin room. The room was clean with a comfy bed and wardrobe. It was on a higher floor so it was quiet at night. The bathrooms were old but they were cleaned several times a day with lots of toilet paper available and hot water from shower. They offer free internet and the kitchen... More

Thank you so much for the fair and comprehensive review. We are a basic accommodation, but we do our best with what we have and try very hard to provide value for money. We are glad you noticed that we do clean the bathrooms 3 times per day during summer, as we do with the kitchen and lounge as well.... More

the accommodation was very basic for the money I paid, is all accommodations expensive in Australia? two single beds, a wardrobe, a electric heater, that all, no towel, shared bathroom for A$72 per night. i Understand it is a backpaker, no supplying towels in the dormtory it is understandable but in a privite room!. the room and the shared toilet... Thank you for a fair and comprehensive review. It is reviews like yours that help us improve our services. For example, we are now proving towels in private rooms! Sorry that we didnt get onto it prior to your stay, but it just didn't occur to us in our considerations. It took another review like yours to introduce the thought... More

Good location, accetable kitchen which staff clean every evenning. Please notice that you have to pay extra for dyne/bedsheets, if you do not have your own sleeping ack with you. Has free wifi, but then we stayed here in 31 of March 2013, it had some problems. One staff/receptionist help us plan our road-trip around Tassie, very nice, and helpful.

we stayed here one night, in a dorm for 6. Rooms are very hot and stuffy but clean enough. Bed sheets ok but could have been cleaner. Quite expensive to use internet if you don't have a device but free if you do. Staff helpful enough but they are understaffed. Bathrooms could do with an upgrade as could most communal... More

I will start with the good. The hostel is in a great position, central to shops and eateries in Hobart. Could walk everywhere. The staff at the front counter wonderful. Kitchen light and bright, if a bit dirty. We had a hire car so had to find somewhere to put it overnight. No parking. I guess it was a backpackers... More

Our group stayed in 6 different backpackers and rustic cabins on our tour of Tasmania. This is the only one every disliked. Very worn, not well taken care of. Not quite clean, say dusty rather than dirty. Noisy. Next time, we will definitelty stay elsewhere.

The structure is a bit old, but great staff and very central. Linen not included, but available at a small fee. Quite clean, but not perfect. Kitchen well equipped ad quite big - dining area very old, but comfortable. Easy to meet people.
