Perfectly located with a balcony overlooking the city's waterfront and convenient to the attractions. Friendly staff. Not ideal for two sharing, as NO privacy...ergo ideal for solo or a couple. Expensive wireless(include in tariff). Restaurants abound within a five minute walk.

Stayed here with my husband and mum for 5 nights. The view is beautiful and the location is perfect -easy flat walk to Salamanca. But I have to agree with the previous comments about the mezzanine bedroom. No privacy and no door- not really a second bedroom just a landing with 2 single beds. The walls are extremely thin and... Wow this is just about as close to the water as you can get. Open your door to the tiny balcony and let the harbour views and noises fill the room.Perfect location, well appointed rooms, attentive staff. The shower is over the bath which can be a bit tricky.

We stayed here for 2 nights after a weeks work in Tas. The idea was to relax and feel at home on the waterfront. Which you can do, but the rooms are poor quality (fixtures and maintenance) for the price.

We stayed for 3 nights over a weekend and loved it. The apartments are very close to Salamanca and all the restaurants, galleries and market and it was good to be able to walk everywhere. We had a balcony overlooking the harbour and it was lovely to sit and watch the yachts comming and going and you get nice music... More

Great location, but Limited car parking, hotel really try to help, but if they are full, space is hard to find. Rooms clean, but smallish with windowless bedroom in the loft. They are heated/cooled by a noisy heat pump and if you opt for a balcony, while that's nice you get the noise of the sailing boat masts ropes if... More

We arrived on a beautiful warm autumn afternoon into Hobart and were quite exciting about staying on a pier in the heart of the city. Right there next to million dollar leisure craft and minutes from the famous Salamanca old town, what could possibly go wrong? Well let us be frank, a stay at the Somerset Pier service apartments did... More

We found the staff extremely helpful, we could not fault their service and nothing was too much trouble. The location is fantastic and its an easy stroll into Hobart city and close to Salamanca square and markets. It was quiet and we loved sitting on the balcony looking over the water. In the evening over looking the pier it was... More

Weekend stay, g8t for Mona ferry, 4 adults a bit cramped for sitting around. Kitchen basic, but a coffee pot and tea pot were much appreciated. weddings down stairs sent a romantic thump thump through the floor, the prewedding drinks next door involved lots of door banging, girlie squealing, and bottle scraping on deck rails, followed by early! Showers to... More

Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you very much for your feedback. Our apologies that you were disturbed by noise during your stay. Somerset on the Pier is generally a quiet location, however, at times, as we are in a busy tourist area and have a function centre and restaurants in the same building we do experience some noise. The location was great, close to everything and terrific views out onto the dock, however the room was basic accommodation which was fine, but priced so you would come to expect a lot more. The most disappointing and frustrating part was that we paid a large price and was still charged internet at $6.00 per hour (if you wanted to... More
