My husband and I spent our Honeymoon on Long Island. After a hectic 2 weeks of wedding events, it was fantastic to be able to hop on a ferry and arrive at another world. There is only one other resort on the island, but it feels like you have the place to yourself. The beachfront rooms are steps away from... more

We stayed in this hotel as a wedding package. Had a lovely time, our room was lovely right on the beach. the wedding was so beautiful, very simple but that's what we wanted. hotel provided a wedding dinner at a separate setting from wveryone else which was very romantic. Would definatley recommend this island resort. We loved it. more

I stayed at the Long Island Resort in February 2009, and it was really nice. My boyfriend and I paid for a garden room but because it was just after the school holidays it wasn't busy so they put us in the ocean front room. It was really nice! You would wake up, walk out of your room onto the... more

Hello and thank you for your feedback. We're always glad to hear that someone enjoyed their stay. Even better, its great to hear that you were able to take advantage of all that the Island has to offer (eg hiking and snorkeling). Far too many people spend all their time lounging by the pool or playing tennis etc... which is...

Beautiful location but so many 'little' things went wrong - such as not having the activities/ extras advertised on their website (sunset cruise, fishing trip); took an hour for our luggage to arrive at our room but we could have walked back to the jetty and got it faster; room next door had loud radio and lights on all night... more

I stayed at the resort during February 2008 as part of a large tour group. At the time, the place was run down and grubby. The rooms were not clean and my impression was of general neglect and lack of investment. On my first night I went to bed and woke up about an hour later feeling odd. I switched... more

Thank you for your review and I was very sorry to read about your experience. Quite a bit has change at Long Island since your stay in February 2008. We have invested in significant room upgrades and the resort has been under new management for the past 9 months. The current General Manager has never had a guest complaint about...

My two teenage children and I just returned from a 9 day/8 night holiday from Long Island Resort. We spent nearly 2 whole days travelling to and from the resort so it was really 7 days. Flights and transfers went without a hitch. The island itself was lush with tropical vegetation and forest and our approach to it was breathtaking.... more

We booked 5 nights and stayed 2! We have 2 young children and were dissappointed in Long Island. Hopeless from a child point on so many levels. Pool only has small shallow area which includes the swim-up-bar and is beside the restaurant and pool-bar. Made us uncomfortable as wedding parties were hanging round pool while we swam/played. Food hopeless for... more

We are sorry to hear about your inconvenience, and appreciate your comments and feedback. With regards to the proximity of the kids pool area to the restaurant and pool-bar, we usually find that guests enjoy the convenience. Our staff are trained to serve alcohol responsibly, so we definitely aim to ensure the comfort of all guests. During low seasons kids...
