Townsville has always been short of consistently good accommodation at a decent proice. An excellent motel that has been tastefully refurbished with large airey rooms. I've been to Townsville a couple of times, usually for a conference or business. There are pretty good restaurants and I really like walking along the Strand in the morning and evening.
