I stayed here for the first time with a friend and initially I was really impressed. The rooms were neat and tidy (the bathroom was a little grotty though), the grounds were nicely kept and every single staff member was wonderful bar the female manager - we simply asked for a new bath towel and was scolded and threatened that... Upon arriving with my husband a 3 year old when we entered the room The room smelt like nil odour trying to cover up the cigarette smoke and the air con was so noisy it was like sleeping in a refrigerator truck, so not worth the $130.00 we ended up cancelling our return trip and booked in else where.

As first time stayers, we would certainly return and will recommend The David to anyone requiring a bed for a night or two in Rocky. The staff were friendly and obliging, being extremely helpful to us in our hour of need. Our room was very clean, was serviced daily with fresh towels, tea, coffee etc., the bed was comfy. From... Accommodation in Rockhampton is all a little inflated in price, and $108 per night is not bad for the city, even if that seems a bit pricey compared to what you would get in other cities. We pulled in at about 10pm when we needed a room for the night whilst passing through, (a lot of other hotels/motels were full),... More

We always stay here when we are in Rockhampton, always happy. Not so impressed this time however, stayed a few days, no bed making, no clean towels,no soap in shower stall (they have those bottle dispensers) , toilet walls could have used a good wipe over ,restaurant advertised as open, invited family down for a nice dinner and they didn't... Stayed there on our return to Townsville on 15/3/2012. Pleasant Room. New flat screen TV's AND dvd player.Facilities were good and we slept like a log. $108 a dble which is fairly reasonable on the central queensland coast where accommodation is a premium due to the mining boom in the area. Would stay there again. The people are friendly but... More

We frequently go to Rockhampton to visit an aged relative. We had previously stopped at the David Motel....since 1998. In February 2011 we booked in for 2 nights@ $108.00 a double, not cheap for a provincial city. We had a continental breakfast delivered & we asked for extra condiments, there being only 1 of each: marmalade, honey, vegemite, for 2... More
