We stayed three nights and found our room to be clean and more spacious than more recently constructed places. However in spite of the relatively recent paintwork it is definitely getting to the end of its life. A toaster and microwave mean that limited food preparation can take place but lack of proper washing up facilities mean that dishes have... More

The room rate for $130 a night is OK, especially considering that pet friendly motels are hard to find. The room was large, the shower was hot and the bed comfortable. The Ambassador is on a main road but our room had no windows facing the road so we were not affected by noise. We tried the restaurant and it... More

Having our dog with just was not a problem for this hotel! We were pleased with the room, it was clean and fresh smelling, staff were friendly and helpful! It's not a luxury hotel by any means but well worth a look if you like to travel with your pets! More

I paid $825 for five nights for the family unit. The hotel was overpriced unless I was paying for the extra room-mates ie cockroaches and mice. The lounge was ripped and covered with a patched sheet. The bed sheets were also patched and almost threadbare. The tiles were cracked and dangerous and the air conditioning was extremely noisy. The bottom... More

I have stayed several times at the Ambassador, both through work and privately. It is located at the north end of Rockhampton as you are heading out of town. Not to far from petrol stations, some eateries and shops. I have always found the staff to be friendly and the room of acceptable cleanliness. I like the fact that the... More

I am not sure where the last reviewer stayed but it certainly does not reflect our experieince. We booked suight unseen as this is the only motel in Rockhampton that allows pets in the room. We thought it was going to be terrible but was pleasantly surprised by how spacious and clean the rooms were. No hint of dog smells... More

Myself, along with 5 other ladies stayed at Ambassador Motel over night to attend a concert in Rockhampton. Before we even reached the motel, we were turned off it. We asked 2 people for directions, and both responded with "Do you mean Ambassador Motel, the hooker motel?" Once we arrived at the Motel, it looked overall clean. But as we... More

We decided to stay at the Ambassador Motel after finding out just how hard it is to get a last minute room mid-week in Rockhampton... The staff were OK in their demeanour but effective in what they did. The Motel itself was quite busy and booked out the night of our stay; however, it wasn’t abruptly noisy by any means.... More

We stayed here after reading reviews on the website, so essentially sight unseen. We were suprised at how much better it was then what we expected. We requested an earlier then normail check in as one of our children was ill in the car and were told to "come on in". It was great to know that we could get... More

My daughter and myself, together with her two border collies, stayed at the Ambassador Motel in July 2011 as a stop-over on the way to Mackay where she was relocating for work. The motel in on a very busy main road opposite a large cemetery. We were on the ground floor with our back to the road. We heard a... More
