We enjoyed our stay at the Colonial Club the tropical grounds and swimming pools are very attractive. The rooms are quite dated and basic but with everything you need just don't expect hotel rooms think motel chalets. There is a shuttle service into central cairns (chargable) but having a car would be better as it isn't that frequent, especially in... More

The Cairns Colonial Club resort is situated away from the city centre but close enough to be there in 10mins. It is about 10 mins from the airport which is also convenient. What an amazing hotel! Check In was simply great, brilliant receptionist who told us everything we needed to know & answered any questions we had. Hotel is great value for money ,friendly staff ,it's abit far from the city but you enjoy the peace and quiet. We will be going back again .We had the room with the family room we found it large enough for two adults and two teenagers.It is a very large resort .with three pools to choose from. More

“Brief stay”

Everything was as we needed. Rooms were clean, coffee & tea all full. Blanket was used at night from the cupboard. The only improvement would be because my wife has MS the walk to our room was quite long for her, it would be much easier for her if we had rooms that were closer to the reception area. More

“One night in this hotel was dreadful couldnt get any sleep”

Paper thin walls, noisy tourist group banging doors and shouting at 3 in the morning, room smelled like a portaloo, hard flat pillows, uncomfortable beds, poor location, Air conditioning and TV didnt work properly. Would never stay here again. More

Very average, old, tired and not that comfortable. Price was somewhat reflective of the lower standard of facilities provided. This place is a "resort" not just a motel, and sits on an expansive property. I chose this because it was walking distance to the Botanical gardens.
