We stayed for 4 nights at Rainbow Southside in early September 2009. It's clean except there are small ants in the bathroom sink area. Location is too far from the city center and Esplanade. This place was just what I was looking for. The rooms were really comfortable and clean and I had a good desk to work from. For price, it's a good deal. Good 20 minute walk to city center. But there is the sun bus right behind the hotel that takes you directly to city center. We lucked onto this hotel back in 2001, I believe we were told that it had been recently refurbished. We ended up in a ground floor room with a small kitchenette and a loungeroom that had sliding doors to divide off the bedroom and a door to a patio.
