Me and another guy in the dorm have been robbed during night. Somebody managed to break into the house and then came into the room easily as there apparently was a key laying in front of the room door. As long as the security is not improved by for instance installing lockers in the rooms and putting cctv into the... More

Hi Cimbernluke Thank you for your positive feedback that Bowen Terrace is a nice quiet place to stay. We also acknowledge that for the first time since I have owned Bowen Terrace we had security problems while you stayed with us. Please be assured that by midday all locks were completely replaced by a locksmith and security lockers have been... More

We arrived in Brisbane in May, as the fall was just starting to kick in. Even though the peak season was fading out, Bowen Terrace still seemed like a very sought after place, with people in almost every room. We liked the fact that it is located in a residential area, which means that it is quiet at night. We... More

If Im travelling solo, I always stay here when in Brisbane. For the price in this location, you cant beat it. Sure its got no air con, but the fans are actually really powerful and Ive never been too hot. And I need to be cool to sleep. Go to the french patisserie around the corner and get breakfast. Devine.

my thought: - Location is very good. Lovely area of Brisbane near a lovely suburb. - Unexpected upgrade on our first night! However following return from a Fraser Island trip out standard sized room was a bit small although nice enough. - Very reasonable price! - Front desk was only maned for a few hours each day which for a... This hostel really felt like home! It's a nice building (house) in a residental area close to restaurants, supermarket and quite close to bars and pubs (about a 10 minute walk). I walked to the centre and it took me about 25 minutes. The dorm was very nice and clean and the bed was really good. I stayed in a... More

Even though I was there for only a short stay, the owner kindly offered great supermarket, eating and sightseeing tips for my 24hrs in Brisbane. Opting for a 4 bed room, Bowen Terrace provided great value for money as hostel-style accommodation, the downstairs rooms being quieter than upstairs, and conveniently closer for east access to the showers and kitchen. This is a great snag, the people are really friendly and accommodating. We have come back to stay again in this fantastic Queenslander. The pool is great to cool down when you need. Beautiful place and a great location with a perfect touch of Queensland Australian culture in the bosom of the valley. Enjoy Australia

I visited Brisbane in early November 2012 and stayed in Room #7, a single bedroom with share bathroom use for five nights. The room was fine; clean and functional. There is no air con, but a ceiling fan. The room also had a TV, fridge and water kettle. A bedside lamp would have been nice, given that the room was... More

When I started my search for accommodation in Brisbane, I was doing so almost 7 months in advance and therefore was absolutely shocked at the high cost of hotel rooms, even with such advance notice. When I stumbled across the Bowen Terrace website I book marked it as a "last resort" in the event I could not find a central... More

Looking at the room-types offered (e.g. some dorms with shared bathrooms), I knew that there was a back-packer element to Bowen Terrace, however we opted for a room with with an en-suite, so I thought it was a little more like a B&B, especially given the price they were charging for such a room. However upon arrival, it was clear... More

Hi and thanks for taking the time to write a review. You are correct in saying that we are not a B&B, none of our marking says this either, we market ourselves as a guest house and we cater for a wide range of travellers, anything from a shared room with 3 other people to single rooms on your own...
