I stayed here for a couple of nights on a business trip. Great rooms, nice and large. Love the high ceilings. Great location and great value. The cafe near the entrance of the hotel is awful. Very BA and rude service. Go somewhere else to eat. I'd stay in the hotel again though.

Dear Niveus Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that you received poor service from the café. Although it is an integral part of the hotel, it is run as a separate business which we have little control over. It is also disappointing as from my own observations and feedback from guests, the service and quality has... More

My husband and I stayed in a one bedroom suite at the Royal Albert in Brisbane for one night on Friday May 3, 2013 and were slightly disappointed. Judging by the reviews on Trip advisor and the pictures on the hotel's website, we were expecting a really nice, old-fashioned hotel. We got old alright. It is in a great locations... More

Thank you for pointing out our competitive car parking rates and our central location right at the epicentre of Brisbane. Like most hotels, we do process a pre-auth to cover accommodation and extras. On guest requests after check out, we fax banks to release the pre-auth. Whilst most banks release these promptly, some of the smaller credit unions (such as... More

We stayed in the Royal Albert Hotel Brisbane for two nights, 8th/9th of May 2013. It was for our 5th wedding anniversary. I can't fault this place one bit. From the minute we drove into the car park, we were greeted by the wonderful receptionist who carried our luggage to reception for a super quick check in. At first you... More

Dear GG Thank you for your great comments and for choosing us for your 5th wedding anniversary – Happy Anniversary! Exactly! I still remember the time I walked into the hotel and was taken aback by the magnificent wide and ornate hallways and spacious rooms. All this and just 120 paces from the epicentre of Brisbane! Usually we do have... More

I stayed for business overnight. The location was fabulous, opposite the Myer Centre and with a restaurant outside the foyer. I arrived just before 10 pm: my key was ready, the room was clean and quiet and I had a delicious in-room meal of barramundi (that didn't taste like it was farmed and frozen) and vegetables. Breakfast (full English) was... More

Thank you for your great comments from a well-travelled traveller! I will pass them on to Café Mondial. The epicentre of Brisbane is the corner of Albert and Queen Streets, and we are just 120 paces away! Two of my best friends and I chose this hotel for a girls weekend away and could not have chosen better. Across the road from the Myer Centre, a short walk to the casino and clubs and the Queen Street Mall. The hotel is a gracious and beautiful older building and we loved the decor and the spaciousness of the... More

Dear Damedee Ha ha ha!! What a great review. I think all travellers should read your review as it reflects such a young, vibrant, and mature travel philosophy! When we refurbished the rooms a couple of years ago, we chose to reflect the heritage style of the building in keeping with its 100 year history. It would have been easy... More

As a Gold Coast resident I don't usually have the opportunity to stay in many local hotels. I was the guest of a guest and arrived at the hotel early on a Friday night evening. A very difficult place to find especially the car park. I found the hotel to be stylish but a little outdated and "tired" in some... More

The best way to arrive if driving is to take the Margaret St exit (from the South) or Charlotte St (from the North) and turn into Albert St. If you get lost you can call us and we are happy to direct you. Our sofa beds are high quality Moran sofas with inner spring mattresses, but the sleep quality is... More

Grand old hotel with character. Great restaurant downstairs. Full apartment including complete kitchen and washer/drier. Surrounded by shopping and restaurants as well as museums and the river. One block to the Queen Street Mall. Major shopping center across the street for groceries and liquor. All the staff were super and the parking was convenient as well. Only negative is the... More

Thank you for your great comments! Yes the lift interiors are a bit shabby but not for long! They will be replaced in September/October. It sounds like you made the most of your visit, exploring the river and the museum whilst allowing enough time for shopping and restaurants. Peter Tyrer More

The Royal Albert is in a great location with the Queen Street Mall across the road, there is very little to no street noise. The staff are friendly and efficient, the rooms are big, clean and well appointed and very well maintained. There is a charge of $22.00 for parking which is very reasonable for inner city parking. Great little... More
