Like the other reviews this Hotel was a utter rip off with a capital R. The reception was one young lass ( Back packer I think) the room was awful with bugs running around although they did supply a canister of bug killer. What sort of hotel is it when you can't get a meal of any kind and at... More

We stayed two nights in the Lost Camel. The rooms are small and very used. There was only the receptionist available as contact person for our claims for whom personal phone calls also seems to be more important than the guest. After arrival, we recognised a mouse running through our room. We wait till today for an apologise from part... More

Our tour had planned two days in Ayers Rock at The Lost Camel Resort. I think one day is sufficient if you visit only the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. The resort is in the outback and If you keep in mind this consideration all will be more acceptable. The front desk was very kind at check-in and check-out. The room... More

Dear Gianfi58, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I’m glad you found our team friendly and the room nice. As you have noted our remote desert location is beautiful but does come with the challenge of some insects. We do run an ongoing pest control program which is probably why any insects that do make their... More

A short drive from the airport is about the only positive comment I can come up with. I guess there was a nice pool...so there are two positives. After checking out of our amazing hotel in Cairns, we got stuck at the airport for the entire day waiting to fly to the Red Centre. By the time we got to... More

The Lost Camel Hotel is located in a complex with the other hotels in Yulara and services about 10 km from the Ayers Rock airport on a loop road. Clearly, you are a long ways from everything and things are going to be more expensive….for everything from fuel to room to food. Let’s face the facts – this is not... More

Dear ordflyer, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I thank you for your understanding in regards to the cost of operating in such a beautiful yet remote part of the country and do agree that parts of your experiencing were disappointing and should have been handled more efficiently. Please be assured that we taking every pest... More

A little hard to find, but a good clean resort stay for a cheaper price than most. Our room was the perfect size, and the bathroom was new and quite spacious for us. We weren't impressed at the dead mouse we saw under the staircase that wasn't picked up for a day, but it wasn't in our room and we... More

Dear VisitingBears, Thank you for your post. I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay and found your room spacious and comfortable. Sorry to read there was confusion regarding your dinner experience. The two course minimum is highlighted on the menu but also should have been explained to you when you first sat down. We are currently in the creative... More

You're a captive audience if you want to stay at Uluru and the Lost Camel is functional if a little weird - the room is "away" from the windows and the bathroom and toilet, behind the bed-head are the only ones with views - and they have unobscured glass!! However the position is good, close to shops and restaurants and... More

Dear Mr_MrsB_12, Thank you for your review. The Lost Camel is proudly Ayers Rock Resort’s quirky hotel. It offers visitors one of the more affordable accommodation options, while featuring a convenient location. As you mentioned, Lost Camel guests have great access to shops and restaurants and still get to enjoy facilities in our adjacent hotels. I look forward to the... More

Am surprised by some of the more negative reviews as we had a great stay. Yes, the rooms are small, but they are very well designed and have everything you could possibly need in them. I don't mind the separate shower/toilet areas - in fact it's a godsend when you're waiting for your partner to hurry up! The reception staff... More

Dear babylove1979, Thank you for your positive review. The Lost Camel Hotel certainly has a cosy feel and I am glad you thought our reception staff were helpful. The design of hotel interiors and exteriors has been creatively thought through and you are right, it is definitely like no other in a positive way. Please be assured we are more... More

Stayed here for two nights recently and couldn't wait to leave - the location is great but this place needs bulldozing. Concrete block monstrosity with pokey rooms and ant city for a toilet. The building is a very simple concrete block build and lacks any charm, I would say it was a poor backpackers place but there is a backpackers... More

Dear AaronSmith73, Thank you for your post. Yikes! A converted multi-storey car park? You are correct these buildings did have a former life but this life has always been accommodation. The rooms have been designed with convenience and short stay in mind hence their size and functionality. If you were to compare it to a backpacker’s accommodation, I would think... More

Stayed one night during our visit to Ayers Rock. The room was small but comfortable. It was a bit strange with the shower and toilet vurtually in the same room. We decided wanted a room with a balcony so moved to the Desert Sands the next day. It is however in a very handy location in relation to the town... More
