I've stayed at the Asylum for 1 whole week during my stay in Sydney. This place is always filled with fun people to be with, if you are traveling alone, there is no way that you can be lonely here. Cheap bed, great location (minutes from train station, supermarket, eatery, entertainment), free internet and breakfast, what more you can ask... More

We stayed at asylum 4 nights and overall it was a quiet bad stay. We slept in a 6 bed dorm with two other girls an two boys. At night it was very loud, we couldn't close our door because it made a lot of sound when you opened it. We were afraid of our belongings and slept were bad!... More

I stayed at the Asylum in Cairns and this one in Sydney. They are both so much fun! If you are looking for a super cheap bed and a fun, party atmosphere then stay here. You will meet so many new friends! www.asylumhostelsydney.com More

My boyfriend and me, managed to grab a booking here as we booked in with Brado's which was the most vile hostel we had ever been in. So we got a last minute booking with The Asylum. The hostel itself is slightly tucked away from the main strip in Kings Cross which is a bonus and upon arrival the staff... More

Asylum is a cheap and cheerful Hostel. Don't expect anything magical from the place its self, but do expect to meet some great people there! Don't be hooked in by the offer of free internet and breakfast. For breakfast you should really take care of yourself, and the Internet is available on shared and ancient computers in the lounge area.... More

The worst and dirtiest hostel in the world, and believe me I should know as I have stayed in over 500 hostels worldwide!!! It's ok if you have never stayed in a hostel and have low expectations, or if you just need a cheap place to stay where hygiene is not your main priority. For example, the kitchen had a... More

Kings cross = crack central security bars, buzz ins, strict rules This place I booked online at hostels.com. Good reviews on there, ive been a LOT of places.. this place I booked, and upon checkin I literally checked out about 45 minutes later. They would not refund $50 of my $200 initial booking. Would have started a fuss but my... More

I was pleased with this hotel. The view out our window was great. We could see the harbor bridge, opera house, downtown. It wasn't far from the train stop in King Cross, like 1 block. Beware, it's not the easiest place to spot. Free Internet, light breakfast, all very nice to have. Also. we had a lot of fun on... More
