Excellent location, and i imagine good for meeting other travellers. (Though I got the impression a lot of the travellers were actually living there on working visas) Rooms however are poorly cleaned and only one female toilet for entire floor which was not clean either (always seemed to have toilet paper on floor). We stayed here in December 2012. It was one of our worst hostel experiences so far. Most people appeared to be living there and didn't seem to like 'travellers'. Nice hostel, close to the subway station. There is a kitchen with everything (just pretty small when it's busy). There is also a rooftop and free internet. The room was good, you have space, lockers and your own bathroom (just 1 shower, not so convenient for 10 people).

Its a 5 minute walk from King's Cross Station. Avoid going back too late friday and saturday nights, the area can get pretty funky.... But generally, located away from the hub dub and quiet at night. Originally we booked ourselves in room 12- the roof room not realising that people like to go on the rooftop to drink and chat. It was really noisy until 12. The next day we mentioned this to reception and they gave us a room move to a 4 bed dorm. This was a really nice room. The hostel is clean.... More

I had such a great time at Kings Cross Backpackers! The staff were so friendly and accommodating, everything was really clean and tidy. It is so close to the city and the station I had no problems getting everywhere I needed to go. I would 100% recommend this to my friends and stay again!

I booked into this hostel for a week, stayed for 6months. It was clean, well looked after. The staff where friendly approachable and had a great knowledge of the local area and how to get to nearly every area and suburb of sydney. Recent renovations of this hostel has made it even better.
