This hotel is not as portrayed on its website. The service was horrible. There is only one person at the front desk and has limited time for each person. Customer service was brief, abrupt and sticklers. They don't think about the long term consequences of their actions. They are only there to get paid and then clock out. If they... more

Me and a friend were needing just one nights accommodation to crash after a work christmas party. All of the usual nice hotels were booked out, so we decided to try the Y Hotel - close to the city, transport etc... NOT!! We were horrified at the condition and INconvenience of the place. It took us over half an hour... more

When we first booked a room with this 'hotel', my friends and I were looking at all these gorgeous photos of their rooms. We thought it looked nice to stay at, so we booked the two bedroom suite which supposedly had it's own balcony and etc. It said it was only a short walk from Central station... which then we... more

Not sure how this place got some other " Not Bad" reviews, it's a dump, rooms are tiny and not clean we wouldn't even walk on the carpets or take a shower without footwear on. At least we had a door on our washroom which is more than others had, don't be fooled by the pictures on the website or... more

Decent budget hotel. Room was small, but it had everything I needed. Location was so-so, it was about a 5 minutes walk to Redfern station, and quite close to the airport. But there wasn't much nearby. It was about a 10-15 walk to a supermarket, and very limited cafes & eateries nearby. It was also in a less friendly and... more

LIKES: - Cheap (paid $80 per night for an en suite double room) - Close to the city attractions (Redfern station was about 5 mins' walk from the hotel, just 1 stop away from Central station and a few stops from Circular Quay and Town Hall stations) - Modern and cheery furnishings - Clean and well-serviced - TV (even though... more

We were visiting our son who lived nearby so chose this place for the location. Although we knew that at the price and the fact that it used to be the YWCA it wasn't going to be the most luxurious of rooms, it was a bit of a shock to see how small the room actually was. It was a... more

Upon arrival at the Y Hotel South, our first impressions were of doubt, however once inside and in our room we were pleasantly surprised. The room is small but has everything you need and is everything you would expect from a budget city centre hotel. Our room looked on to the train line which was quite busy but the noise... more
