We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights, we had a cooked breakfast each morning which gave us a good start to the day. I was dubious about the location in King's Cross but it was perfectly safe. George and his family run this hotel which suited us fine, our room was large and comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities and... More

Sydney is a very expensive place for Americans to vacation, so I was looking for a modest, reasonably priced accommodation in a fairly central location. Hotel 59 delivered that and more. We were there three nights. A full cooked to order breakfast (with tea or espresso drink) included in the room price is a great benefit. Our room was on... More

I booked a 'Deluxe' room at this hotel following some great comments on TA but unfortunatley I was really disppointed with my experience here. I have to say though, George's sister was nice and helped me with my very heavy bag up the stairs and their father makes a great breakfast which is free. But my deluxe room was very... More

Very friendly owner, comfortable rooms, 100% quiet night and day time ( after our nightmarish experience in Devere Hotel the month before, this peaceful atmosphere was welcome ! ). A choice of gargantuan yummy breakfast is included in the room's price ! We warmly recommend this well situated place ! And, thanks again for your warm welcome Mr Georges !... More

Hotel 59 hits all the buttons if you want modestly priced decent, accommodation, with easy access to Sydney's brilliant transport network. Buy a Multipass and use the ferries, buses, and trains to get you around and about all of the places of interest, including the Blue Mountains. George is a great host, the breakfasts are great and the place is... More

Home from home shower, powerful and plenty of hot water. Only needed the air con once or twice, but it worked quickly and quietly.... More

I stayed at Hotel 59 with my husband in November and we had a great experience. Very small room, with decor reminiscent of a university dormitory. Small bathroom, with an adequately size shower enclosure (no tub). Some mold/mildew on grout in shower enclosure and tiled bathroom floor. In room: wall-mounted hair dryer, small refrigerator; coffee/tea, very small (13-inch or 15-inch) TV mounted on the wall (didn't know they still made these anymore!), air conditioner. There was...
