Stayed in a City View room booked through a special offer. This would be their base or standard room - however it did not compare well to other standard rooms in other 5 star hotels. While neat and clean as you would expect, i was surprised at: - shower over bath, WITH SHOWER CURTAIN (you can't call that 5 star)... more

We stayed here during the last week of September, and truly enjoyed it here. The location is great, just two blocks from Circular Quay for the ferries and the Opera House, across the street from the Royal Botanical Gardens, and a short walk to the Rocks. We didn't dine at any of the restaurants within the hotel, but the menus... more

For part of the visit we wanted to be in the Central/Rocks area to do all the tourist things. Choice of Intercon was influenced by chance to use up Priority Club points for part of the stay. We did not regret the choice. The hotel is excellently located, being a few minutes walk from Circular Quay (ferries and trains plus... more

Dear Laocowboy2, Thank you very much for your positive feedback. We were pleased to read that you enjoyed our prime location and the hotel facilities. We do appreciate your feedback regarding the cost of internet. With this in mind it is interesting to note that, at $25 per day, InterContinental Sydney offer one of the lowest rates among luxury hotels...

There are two main reasons that the Intercontinental was the PERFECT choice for our all-too-brief 3-night, 2-day visit to Sydney: (1) location, and (2) club floor access. The hotel is a quick walk to the principle downtown sights (e.g., Bridge Climb, Opera House, Botanical Gardens), as well as to the water ferries at Circular Quay which connect downtown to the... more

We stayed here for one night on our way back to the US. The room was fine and so was the breakfast but what really made the stay enjoyable was how helpful the concierge was with restaurant reservations, faxes and shopping help. Everyone here is pleasant and efficient and we were well looked after. We had several meetings on the... more

I have stayed here twice this year and it's all about location, location, location. The view from the executive club lounge is amazing and so close to the bridge and opera house. Breakfast in the club lounge is very basic and when I had breakfast downstairs in the main restaurant it was probably the worst buffet breakfast that I have... more

Having stayed in many fine hotels worldwide, the Intercontinental Sydney stood out for it's fine service and incredible views - all of which were unique in many respects and contributed to an overall oustanding experience in Sydney. I had taken my elderly mother on a special trip to visit her homeland and family; we stayed 3 nights in Sept. in... more

It is clear from reading other reviews, as is the case with many hotels, the room location is key. We had a king club harbour executive suite. I cannot imagine having a better view in Sydney. To our right were the botanic gardens. Straight ahead the Sydney Opera House. Finally, to our left Harbour Bridge. With sunny days during our... more

We arrived very early on the morning of Sunday 26 July 2009. On arrival in the reception/lobby area of the hotel our bags were whisked away and we were advised that our ‘Club lounge’ would be opening for breakfast at 6.30am (about 10 minutes later). The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming, and genuinely showed an interest about our trip... more

Room was comfortable - great bed, good bathroom . Good position - close to Botanic gardens, Opera House, Circular Quay etc but handy for shoppiong too.
