Character, historical significance, great location, plenty of excellent restaurants closeby (strongly recommended the "Ottoman" 300 metres away), and comfortable clean rooms with everything you expect in them (e.g toilettries, iron/board, coffee/tea facilities, mini bar, free internet, etc). This hotel has character and interesting history. It is conveniently located for the National Gallery and close to Manuka shopping area for many good restaurants. The room with a balcony was pleasant but the air conditioning definitely needed updating. Wifi was free and easy to access. I really loved the feel of this historic old place, sure it is a bit worn and the rooms are dated but I enjoyed the meals and the general demeanour of the staff. Not often you can stay where a former P.M. lived.

Loads of history, cool and quiet, quaint, delightful reception staff and comfortable rooms where the windows still open! Very enjoyable and so much more interesting than the chain hotels. An absolute bargain at this time of year (hooray the politicians have left for summer) and really easy to walk to the fabulous galleries. Not too far to walk to Manuka... More
