Well appointed, beautifully restored building. Originally housed workers in the early days of Canberra and then used by politicians such as Ben Chifley who died there. Walking distance to Parliament House, National Art Gallery, Portrait Gallery, Old Parliament House, rose garden. Comfortable beds and welcoming service. More

i booked this hotel knowing its historic past and thought it would be a nice treat for my parents with whom i was traveling. Unfortunately when we got there none of its historic charm was evident. the hotel itself is clean and presentable, but has been modernised and redecorated. The room was clean, and the beds comfortable, but the aircon... More

The Kurrajong is a part of Canberra's history - an institution. It is within walking distance of the old and new Parliaments and many of the major Commonwealth departments, the National Library, the High Court and the National Gallery. It has been home away from home for Prime Ministers and, despite its age, relatively modern in general style. The restaurant... More

It was a warm day, the air con in our room didn't work. I went to the desk, their response "we'll have to call maintenance" but couldnt commit to when it would be looked at... So I ask if we could change rooms - which I was told they were fully booked (Baloney!). I was feeling dizzy and heat stressed... More

We've stayed at this hotel several times over the last few years. Initially we loved the charm of the art deco hotel and the location near Manuka and the lake, but the last few visits have been disappointing to say the least. In particular, the reception staff really needs to learn a thing or two about customer service. The weekend... More

Our family booked two rooms for a weekend event at the Hotel Kurrajong. It is very convenient to Manuka and Kingston restaurant and cafe precincts, walking distance to the national gallery and a reasonable cab fare into the city. On our arrival we were impressed by the decor, in that their renovations kept to the original art deco style of the... More

I have stayed at Hotel Kurrajong twice now in the past 4 months whilst on business trips with the Australian Commonwealth Government. The location is fine if you want to only go to and from the hotel to meetings nearby, however if you want to go out for dinner or go into central Canberra city you have quite a trip.... More

The three night bed and breakfast deal at the Australian International Hotel School, attached to the Hotel Kurrajong, suited me as a budget option for a conference stay in Canberra. The budget room is a student room: small room, desk, ensuite, TV, with the fridge compressor somewhere out the window. Free Wi-Fi everywhere. What I liked was the use of... More

I stayed at the Hotel Kurrajong in a room marketed to business customers. It was large and clean. The building is old so the room wasn't as modern as in other hotels but it was not bad. The restaurant is good and it's great that there's a cafe/bar where I could sit and work. For the price, I probably wouldn't... More

I stayed in this hotel with a couple of family members while we were in Canberra for a wedding. The reason we chose the hotel was because it was one of the few that had a disabled room which was required. When we first arrived one of our rooms had a double instead of the twin asked for and door... More
