This is a Canberra oldie.. formerly The Ainslie, then Olims, some general areas showing some age, but room clean and fresh, bathroom a bit too small, food services and general staff attitude very good and helpful. No lift to first floor could be a problem for some with baggage.

A great hotel so far as location goes. This stay not as good as the last, room much mallet and noisier due o floor boards. My husband get up about four times. Night o I don't get a good sleep. Service was fantastic, breakfast also great, lovely staff.

My fiance and I stayed for four nights in late April, in a Deluxe Loft room. The Good: - Upgraded on arrival! We had initially booked a Superior room but on check-in found that we had been upgraded to a Deluxe Loft room. (Not uncommon, judging from other reviews) - Free parking. Aside from the day we arrived (which was... More

Stay was reasonable and cost slightly high. Ate at the bistro and food was less than average and wait for drinks was unreasonable and gave up in the end. Room was good but at night the rooms located above ours were very noisy with every step walked above us sounding like they were about to fall through the ceiling onto... More

This may have been the first time I have stayed here and it won't be the last.Rooms and accommodation were excellent while the restaurant was a delight .My only criticism is that the wine list was devoid of local wine which is excellent. Why?Clonakilla,Larks Hill and many more.I look forward to my return and the opportunity of drinking some local quality... Enjoyed the charm of this hotel. Great accommodation - very comfortable beds - and excellent service. Being accompanied by a number of children we initially chose to dine at the Restaurant, but the children did not like the menu so we went to the bistro - even though the waitress had set up 2 tables for us in the restaurant... Have now stayed twice on business and find the hotel very comfortable and pleasant to stay at. The meals are reasonable either in the main restaurant or the bistro and the bar staff are friendly. I like the loft room because of the space and find the beds very comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay experiencing the lifestyle of our past Statemens - the ambiance was great the hotel is refurbished in the style of past establishment. Our room was very pleasant looking over the central Courtyard - we could have done with a map to show how to navigate to various parts of the building. Very tastey meal in the... More

Room extremely clean and well fitted out with doors opening to a balcony for fresh air - something often hard to find in modern hotels. Good attention to detail in the "extras" in the room and also with the service generally. Room staff and wait staff friendly and efficient. Great position in Canberra - quiet surroundings but also central. Recommended.

Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast very good. Not happy that sheets on bed had not been changed after previous guest. Quickly replaced by a staff member. Fridge was not switched on. Pillows like bags of cement! Bathroom was great- recently refurbished. Good quality large soft towels. Despite the few problems, enjoyed my stay.
