Stayed here for 2 nights in May 2012 - Entrance is very nice, but that is where it ends. No offers from staff to assist with luggage to room. Room was was rather compact, glad I was staying in room by myself as there was not much room to move. I found the parking to be inconvenient - it is... More

The public areas, such as open space lobby and library give a nice homey feel. Staff were friendly but it was clear no-one was going to carry my bag down some tricky stairs. Make your way to the rooms and it's a different story. Sort of like walking from the W Hotel into the halls of "Barton Fink". Pokey rooms,... More

Rooms were clean and well-serviced, but the reservation was mishandled and wound up with a double bed instead of the twins that I'd asked for. Hate making complaints of any kind but on this occasion had no choice, and the staff offered an upgrade at no extra cost. The staff were friendly, but there were always little things, like forgotten... More

One stayed for one night but thoroughly enjoyed our time, great room with nice views over Canberra, located close to the CBD, we'll be back for our next business trip. Restaurant was also fantastic, pizzas are a must have when you stay! More

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. When booking, we thought the hotel sounded amazing being '5 stars' and having a swimming pool, bar, restaurant etc. When we arrived, the building itself looked old, the reception area however was very modern and clean. We were given our room key, we were in the left side, we found the corridors... More

Lovely boutique feel and excellent staff. Think wallpaper on the ceiling. Think fireplaces in the lobby. Think funky brunch lounge next door. Think eagle sculpture in the back yard... yes. eagle sculpture. Originally put in a room on the lowest level which felt quite small and dingy and looked out onto some office workers beavering away next door. Luckily (or... More

I can see what they are trying to achieve but more like an up market pub style than five star. Very overpriced for the room. We got two rooms one was the wotif mystery and I guess they are selling these rooms to dampen the effect of the painting and decorating going on around them. Nice try but not quite. More

I have been on a long-stay in an apartment managed by this hotel which includes cleaning, maintenance and all the regular hotel services. It was very conveniently located for both my business needs and the entertainment and shopping of Canberra's CBD. Of course the cleanliness, great design, modern feel with a respect for the heritage basis of the surrounding buildings... More

I stayed here recently for two nights while working in Canberra. The first night I stayed alone in a Deluxe Room with bathtub. The bath itself was blissfully deep and offered welcome relaxation after a busy day. The queen bed was extremely comfortable with a gorgeous art deco-style bed head. The wallpaper on the ceiling added a lovely touch. A... More

First stay on my own in 2010 I loved this hotel - fun interior design introduced to older style hotel. This time I brought my husband an adult son and chose a 2 bedroom apartment. I was disappointed to find that it was not located within the older part of the hotel, but in a nearby apartment building. The apartment... More

Dear Vicky S, Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your most recent stay with us, we are always delighted to be able to welcome back guests to the hotel. We are very lucky to be looking after 7 designer apartments in the next door New Acton apartment buildings, although these do not have the charm... More
