We came late to Palenque, and there was no place in Margarita and Ed's hotel, so we crossed the "street" and came to El Panchan. The Cabin was nice, with big room, good toilets, and big bed. We were recommended to stay in El Panchan rather than Palenque by fellow travellers, and it was definately the right decision. There are several hostels in the travellers community of El Panchan, but we chose Ed and Margaritas, which turned out to have a choice between several different types of room. El panchan won't be loved by everybody, it's in the middle of the jungle, there are are mosquitos, insects and gekos but if like nature and easy going places it's the perfect place where to stay in palenque. More
