The hotel is surrounded from a deep vegetation and give a "jungle feeling". The terrific pool is super to chill out after visiting ruins or after a trip to Agua Azules. Do not expect real luxury, but keep in mind that you are in a region far from a big town. The room was clean, big, with aircon and a... More

This place is massive and the pools are massive. You almost felt that you had ended up in a summer camp. The staff was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. We never saw a smile from the front desk people and when I asked a member of staff if they ever smiled i was told that they only do so when they... More

Came down from San Cristobal on a tour (Misol-ha, aqua azul, and Palenque (all are must see). Resort is between Palenque town (Santo Domingo) and the ruins so I had tour driver drop us off after the sight seeing. The grounds are very nice but older and showing age. Located right in the jungle, the insects (gritos) at night are... More

This hotel is good value if you just want something to eat there, but don't expect 5* service until you've proven yourself as a decent customer... I wanted to charge my laptop here when I'd just arrived to Palenque (Don Mucho's was a little hectic after my 16h ADO ride). The staff were quite unfriendly and when I explained that... More

This an ideal location for staying when visiting Palenque (and you do want to see Palenque - some wonderful Mayan ruins and a good museum are worth a full day visit). It is just down the hill from the Palenque entrance. The rooms are a series of small cabins, there are two rooms per cabins. We did not hear the... More

Stay for the wild location and howler monkeys/birds etc. all the basics are there. Rooms are a little tired with a holiday inn feel, staff friendly and helpful. Little things like only 200ml of water, not replaced daily and broken safe meant thatoverall didn't feel like good value for money, but quite pleasant. More

Arrived late travelling with a group and when we went to our room there was already a customer in the room. How was it possible to have the keys is another question and we were told that the hotel was full. Our guide gave his room to us and, as he told us thye next morning, it took him around... More

I was just standing in my kitchen here in cold Minnesota dreaming about our stay in Palenque last March and remembered I had not written a review for our stay at Chan-Kah. We stayed for 3-4 nights and found it to be fantastic, a great option in Palenque. There are not many higher end options in the valley. At first... More

Its an 80s resort/hotel dream. In the jungle with an incredible swimming pool and open air restaurant. We saw a condor try and catch an ocelot just outside our bungalow. We actually saw more animals in the hotel grounds than in the jungle around the ruins. It was incredible. Yes the rooms are a bit damp but you are in... More

You are really in the middle of the rainforest, at two km from the archeological site of Palenque. The Restaurant is something you will forget soon. Charming. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ More
