My husband and I stayed here for two nights as part of our honeymoon journey through Mexico. It was amazing. The accommodation was beautiful, the pool area was amazing and the food was spectacular. Rafael was one of the most accommodating and friendly host we have dealt with. He really made our stay as comfortable and easy as possible. Every... More

Everything previous reviewers have said about the design and thought that has gone into this hotel is true and it is a real treat to stay here. The rooms feel quite luxurious, while also feeling relaxed and not too stuffy (as some luxury places can!) and they all have their own lovely outside area. The pool area is just beautiful... More

We chose this hotel based on the reviews in Tripadvisor. First I booked the normal villa in a reasonable price but when we changed our mind and wished to book for an earlier day, the website showed that there is no standard suite and we were forced to book a more expensive one. When we arrive an english speaking receptionist... More

The hotel offers delightful accommodation just 3kms away from the classical Mayan site near modern Palenque. Our Junior Suite was comfortable and roomy with pleasant outdoor sitting space. Although modern the hotel is in the Mayan style so loved of its friendly Italian/German owner (and authority on classical Mayan culture) - even down to his choice of dog!. Given its... More

This is one lovely place--the detail and thought that went into it are crazy (check out the intricate carvings inside the dining area/lobby). The service is very attentive, the food is delicious, the pool area by the lake is a great way to spend a lazy/restful day. Rafael the owner/host is an extreme Maya enthusiast--so if you're here to see... More

Loved our 3 night stay. Rafael is a wealth of Maya history, which he is willing to share with his guests. Beautiful grounds - lovely pool area (we had it to ourselves both days we chose to use it). Massage services on call - Staff is very attentive and will go out of their way to make sure you're happy.... More

This hotel was recommended to me by a friend. I have thanked him for an experience I might have missed without the recommendation. As others have said, it could be a destination itself. I was visiting with friends, so I didn’t have time to use the beautiful pool or massage services, but I did get to eat several meals there.... More

This is an excellent small hotel with (8 rooms ?) an accommodating staff and hands-on, on-hand owner host. Our room was very large by hotel standards. The high ceilings and lots of windows for cross-ventilation maintained the room at very comfortable temperatures and we didn't find it necessary to use the air-conditioning which was a bit of a surprise in... A visit to Hotel Quinta Chanabnal is not so much a visit to a hotel, as it is a trip to an art gallery, a historical site, a university and of course a Mayan village all at once. Raphael Tunesi is more than just the "owner", but a visionary who imagined this place and built it as a labor of... More

This small hotel is a rare find, as the owner himself explains, he wanted to create an experience of living in a mayan temple. The rooms are nicely decorated with stucco replicas, a porch, beautiful rattan and hardwood furniture. They are comfortable with special details such as chocolate soap. The hotel staff is always helpful and the owners watchful eye... More
