I just spent one night here in April 2012 whilst on business. The accomodation is 5 star and the prices are more 3 star. I was impressed by the decor of the room ,the size of the bathroom and also the free wireless. There was a warm welcome on arrival. The continental breakfast in the morning was fabulous. I would... This is the second time we have stayed at Celtic Guest Houses at Llanmartin and we shall certainly return many more times to come. This is without doubt 5 star luxury at its best. The place is run by Sue. What a person. I do think her motto should be " nothing is too much trouble". She is certainly the... More

Stayed for one night with my boyfriend. We were greeted by a very professional and friendly lady at reception, and as soon as you walked through the door the place oozed class and sophistication. We were shown to a magnificent room which again was decorated by sheer class and the bathroom was out of this world. We were advised of... More

Hi Claire. We do go out of our way to ensure all of our guests get the personal service you expect from a hotel. We stayed in the suite for 2 nights with teenager daughter which worked very well, separate bedrooms and shared bathroom. Immaculately clean and very high quality fixtures & fittings. Sue goes out of her way to provide everything you could need. Yes there is no fully cooked breakfast, but the range & quality of the continental is amazing, different both... More

Hello ! Thanks for your positive feedback. I am delighted that you have discovered our luxury 2 bedroom suite for your family. I agree that it works perfectly for a family and was indeed designed with families in mind. I have frequently travelled myself with children and have been amazed how difficult it is to find luxury accommodation in two... More

We stayed here late Jan 2012 for a last minute weekend break. Both myself and my husband were pleasantly suprised at the standard of accomodation, as a previous review states 5* star accomodation and service at non 5 star prices. Sue was great and most helpful in guiding us interms of things to do in the local area. The bedrooms... More

5 Star facilities and service at non-5 star prices. We received a nice warm welcome to this well appointed, personally managed boutique guest house (more like a friendly 6 room top quality hotel really). Located in the middle of nowhere but with the likes of Chepstow, Monmouth, Forest of Dean and Symonds Yat all within easy striking distance - as... More

We had an amazing time staying at the Old Rectory guesthouses - we were in town for a family wedding, with a large group of 6. Each of our 3 rooms were wonderfully comfortable, clean, and accommodating. Sue was especially wonderful, making fresh breakfast to order each morning! She was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and more than happy to assist... More

I stayed here for an average of 3 nights a week over a 3 month period, while working on a contract in Newport. Sue looked after me very well, and it was so much better than staying in a larger hotel - I felt quite at home. Accommodation was of the highest quality - beds and bedding very comfortable, contemporary... More

I stayed here early November and words fail me for how perfect it was. Our room was outstanding - very good size and elegantly decorated. Cute little presents on the bed as soon as you enter!
