We loved this place. The room was perhaps the nicest one of the 6 in which we stayed during our visit to Bhutan, and the view of the valley was definitely the best hotel room view we had during the trip. And the wood-burning stove, which one of the staff lit for us, made it all very charming. Even the... More

Very peaceful place to stay for a night with much cooling weather compared to others. Guestroom: - spacious room size. - heater (back to basic) firewood. - bottle water provided. - bed very comfortable. Restaurant: - mainly is vegetarian (fresh from the farm) especially potatoes. - buffet service (breakfast and dinner).

The rooms were spacious with magnificent view of the valley, well equipped for the cold evenings with wooden stoves and hot water bottles. The shower with hot water didn’t disappoint either. The food was rather average though.

I've stayed here twice and it's absolutely my favorite destination in Bhutan. Not only is the valley one of the most beautiful places on earth, but the hotel is delightful in a rather funky way. First, it's cold here. The front desk doubles as the bar. Guest rooms are heated by small wood stoves. For the uninitiated, this can be... More

It may just be that we were unlucky. There was no power in the entire area when we were there and there was still no power when we left. This may have an impact on our views. This place is more like a mountain lodge, within 10 minutes drive from the black-necked cranes viewing/visitor's centre. It is very quiet and... More

This 'hotel' reminded us of an African safari lodge, although a spacious Swiss chalet could describe it as well. Everything was positive: the warm welcome (a hot towel to wipe your face the moment you step out of the car was great as we felt really cold); the spacious room with view on the valley and excellent amenities; the stove... Even though we stayed at the fanciest hotel chain in Bhutan, the Amankora, this small hotel was the highlight of our trip for me. Real, human, beautiful, true to its nature and the nicest people among a friendly and down-to-earth country,

This hotel was gorgeous The hotel and grounds were well maintained and just look amazing as you approach. The rooms are spacious and very relaxing. Unfortunately when we were there they were experiencing quite a severe power shortage (that lasted a few days apparently) the staff did everything in their power to make the stay as comfortable as they possibly... This hotel has a rustic look. Most of the rooms (I suppose) face the beautiful valley. The best thing was the way we were received by the staff, a royal treatment. We were given warm napkins and that was it...I fell in love with this hotel. The staff is co-operative. I mean the staff took a special care to make... More
