My boyfriend and I stayed at a campsite for two nights. While the sites are very close together and there are a lot of big RVs we had a great time and didn't mind being surrounded by other people, mostly because the trees were so amazing! We got a site next to the river which was great. There's a shop... more

I stayed this past weekend and had the most desirable experince. The weather was in the low 80's. It was so beautiful. The camp grounds were tight very close to one another. Staff was very helfull and friendly. I think next time I will try Pfiffer ...Much larger sites. more

We have been camping in the Big Sur area for 10 years and Big Sur Campground and Cabins is by far the best place to camp! The setting is absolutely beautiful and kid-friendly, too. Camping among the Redwoods which are truly magnificent right by the river. There is plenty for the kids to do - river rafting (safe, but fun),... more

One of the worst tent camping experiences I have had in California. Pluses: pretty location on the river, with great inner-tubing and little swimming holes, and a great playground for the younger kids plus basketball hoops for the older set. They also had sparkling clean restrooms and showers and somewhat nice staff. Minuses: tent sites are horribly small and close... more

My wife and I have been to Big Sur many times together and this was the first trip with the kids - ages 5 and 7. We stayed in one of the cabins, which itself was nice, but the cabins are crammed in amongst the trees and campsites. The only thing we were happy about was the fact that we... more

We booked a cabin for one night for $360. A storm system moved in to where the sheriff of Big Sur put out a warning for mud slides in the area due to the deforestation that took place after a forest fire earlier in the year. I called the office of Big Sur Campgrounds and Cabins to cancel the reservation... more

I just returned from a three night stay here - I was a bit nervous having read all of the reviews... which leave a prospective visitor confused and concerned -so I thought I'd add my 'two cents'. This is a great place to camp!! If you are a hard core backpacker/camper or a true naturalist then this probably isn't the... more

We just arrived home from our trip along Big Sur. We were extremely pleased with the accommodations of the Big Sur Campground & Cabins. The location was perfect, rooms were clean, spacious and had all that was needed. Our room had a large bay window to sit and enjoy the view of the Big Sur River and forest. It was... more

My other half and I stayed there in a cabin with a living room + fire place for a couple of nights for $166 per night inclusive of tax. Basic amenities and a very quiet location which was what we wanted but the site is crowded. $166 a night seems pretty poor value and we don't know how this compares... more
