Nice warm bar, crackling fires, friendly staff, decent food, lots of choice, good beer and a nice selection of wines but above all a happy convivial atmosphere which is the most important thing about a good village pub. Still high on our list of recommendations to our own guests.

If you are looking for tradition, the Bay Horse Inn is the perfect choice. Excellent beer and food with local friendly staff. The fire is welcoming as are the locals who pop in for a 'pint'! The Bay Horse Inn is the epitome of an English country pub, a must if you are in the area :)

Well what can I say, what a great place to stay. The staff our exceptionally helpful and friendly, service better than some hotels we have stayed in . The food was also very good, breakfast excellent. The room was spacious and well equipped, even though a little cold the first night, soon remedied the following evening. Very clean and lovely... We have stayed at the Bay Horse Inn twice now and on both occasions have enjoyed the atmosphere, clean and modern rooms and fantastic food and real ales. The staff are friendly and helpfull and the location is ideal for exploring the lakes and dales. A favourate weekend destination for us.

The King-size bed was great. The breakfasts were yummy. The best black pudding I had ever tried. My partner and I slept so well. Highly recommend this warm and friendly establishment.
