The castle is incredible, the interior decor and furniture blows you away. The friendliness of the staff is wonderful. The owners are lovely down to earth people and it really is a family home. The attention to detail is second to none. Little ideas like the cinema and honesty bar are wonderful. Having open fires or log burning stoves (all... More

We stayed at Augill Castle togehter with our two little girls for three nights. We had two rooms with an interconnecting door. The castle really is child-friendly. We felt very welcomed. One of the living rooms has all kinds of toys. There is a nice playground in the garden, which our girls used a lot. The rooms and bathroom are... More

Second time here and the magic remains. It's a couple of miles off the A66 in the Eden Valley. Driving time to the heart of the Lakes is about 45', and similarly to the Dales. Come here with a young family and be assured that within hours you will stop keeping a paranoid eye open wondering what your children are... More

We stayed in the pendragon suite for one night and were overwhelmed by the beautiful views and stunning design. The meticulous attention to detail was also outstanding and we felt welcomed and at home as soon as we stepped through the door. Wendy and Simon made our stay feel as homely as possible and nothing was strictly regimented, such as... More

We spent new year at Augill castle and had a wonderful time. The whole set up is perfect for families with kids who want an alternative to kids' clubs and organised activites. Hoping to be back soon!

We haven't even left yet and I am feeling compelled to write a review! After two nights, our children just don't want to leave! Everything is perfect and more! The dinner was lovely yesterday, high tea at 6 p.m. for the children and dinner for us at 8 p.m. (whilst they watched a dvd in their room, what a treat... More

Thank you for your lovely review. We are truly delighted that you count us among the new friends you made while staying with us. One of our aims when we first started Augill was to make guests feel like they arrive as guests and leave as friends. We have been here fifteen years now and the place has changed enormously... More

We have stayed at Augill Castle previously and wondered if it would have the same impact on our second visit, it did! From the moment we arrived we felt spoilt by the luxury whilst totally comfortable and at home. The fact that the weather was unseasonaly glorious helped, the hammock in the garden has to be tried. We have now... More

We stayed as the planned highlight of a weekend in the Lakes and what a highlight it was. We arrived about 4pm, and were met by Wendy at the door, and given a much needed drink, after a long walk up Helvellyn.
