We stayed in The Moorland Hotel last weekend and were absolutely thrilled. The setting is tremendous for us as we love walking on Dartmoor. All staff were friendly and the receptionist gave us a lovely walk along the Meavy about a couple of miles from the hotel which was very restorative - Dartmoor river with dippers, mallard, buzzards and sheep.... We stayed in this hotel as we were visiting friends in Plymouth. The staff were really nice and pleasant, the room was fantastic with views over the moor and Plymouth Sound. The food was excellent and very good value for money. This is a gem of an establishment, it is on our list of favourite hotels
