Rather than staying in Parma or Modena, we chose this location and hotel --- and we're so glad we did. The hotel was well appointed, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the price was quite good for the general area. For what we would have paid for a similar room in Parma (we stayed there once before a long time ago), we were able to rent a suite (they have two) at the Hotel Dei Medaglioni with some change to spare. The restaurant was good, but for a relatively small town, there were a few other very good restaurants as well. Access to the autostrada is about 10km away, and you can be in both Modena and Parma as well as many other, smaller and more charming towns within 30 minuets driving (Carpi is less than 15 minuets). Because this is not a "luxury" hotel, I did not give it a "5" rating --- but for its type and size, it's a least a "4". We would stay there again without question. more
