The staff at the hotel were friendly and did their best, but only arrived last week and had little idea about how to run a hotel. The rooms were very small and the lightling was very bad, impossible to read a book in bed, or to see properly in the bathroom. The bedding was very old and the springs could be felt through the bed. Towels were not changed or items such as tissues renewed. The bar advertised was shut when we came back from an evening stroll. The evening meal was not too bad but not of hotel standard. The breakfast was dreadful. A small amount of bread was cut into tiny chunks, and obviously stale. When we asked for more we were told that it would be brought out if we needed it. The hotel would have been fine, if we had booked into a youth hostel, but certainly not a four star hotel. It could not have been compared with the other two hotels we stayed in on our Crystal tour.
