We visited the hotel as a couple during the 1st weekend of February and we both agreed we wouldn't recommend it to a friend. We arrived around 2300 on Friday due to heavy snowfall and once we checked in we headed for the room hoping for some rest and warmth. If only! The room was more cold than the car... More

The Bad Boekelo is great for a getaway for those people wanting to be in the country side, however it is a bit far for business trips. The rooms are spartan and more than once I felt that the room was not serviced properly! The staff are excellent and are really helpful. The Mood restaurant serves up really great cuisine... More

What is missing at Bad Boekelo is a soul. The soul of a building, of interior decoration and design. The soul in food. Fortunately, the staff makes up for this as much as they can. They are helpful, kind and good humored. The hotel is beautifully located. Great area to relax, take a stroll and enjoy the sound of silence.... More

We stayed a weekend with 2 children of 5 and 6 early August, which included breakfast. We had a 2 bedroom apartment, which was roomy and comfortable, but the TV was very old which let and otherwise reasonably good upgrade of an old complex down. The service is amazing, particularly if you are used to the less than interested Dutch... More

Fantastic 70s design is overshadowed by quite a basic finish on guest rooms and hotel public spaces. Obscure pieces of art feel lost in the architecture. Stunning woodland setting makes you instantly calm and rooms with balconies are a treat to take in the pine fresh air. Breakfast food is plentiful. Gorgeous rye breads and nice cold cheeses and meats.... More

Booked for us by my friends family who live nearby we got a much better rate than via the internet! We had stayed in nearby Enschede previously at the Dish Hotel.. This was a much better rate. Having read some of the earlier comments I was slighty sceptical - but need not have been. Arrived late in the evening due... More

One day before arrival the receptionist of the hotel phoned that there was an overbooking. Because we had incurred expenses in order get to Boekelo, we did not agree to a cancellation and eventually got a free upgrade to a suite with fairly soft beds and clean carpet. The suite was rather dark and the lighting could be better. The... More

Rooms were simple, but good. Bathroom was modern! Staff at the reception were friendly. The barkeeper however looked as if he was really bored by his job. I can believe that, since we were the only guests in the bar :P It's really a family/old peope hotel. The surroundings of the hotel however are beautiful. The swimming pool is not... More

Positive impressions VALUE FOR MONEY We got a great internet deal for a weekend away. I would never pay the full rate to stay here. LOCATION This is the perfect spot to explore the textile/ industrial heritage of the region. Museums close by. The rural setting is photo worthy. The woodsy park surrounding the hotel encourages walks and bike rides.... More
