We had booked a juniot suite for 3 nights. Upon arrival we were requested to give our credit card and the 3 nights were charged to our card before being given the key to the room! The suite had a separate entrance from the hotel which was not practical as we don't lilke to go out into the cold before have breakfast. Anyway... but worse and, although we complained, the beds were not made and the place was never cleaned during our entire stay! Only the towels were changed ...This is gross : they take the money, give your the key and then they don't care! Never again! more

The botterweck is a lovely family run hotel in the heart of valkenburg. As an added bonus there is a cafe/cake shop attached to the hotel which serves the most delicious vlai - fruit flans.
I have stayed at this hotel 5 times now for the xmas markets. The rooms are lovely and cosy and perfect for those wintery nights.
They also have apartments to rent and I we were fortunate enough to stay in the luxury apartment last time. The furniture was lovely and modern and has great kitchen facilities, a huge bathroom with gigantic bath, flatscreen tv and dvd player.
Breakfast is a lovely continental spread and is served in a lovely dining room downstairs.
The hotel is clean and well run. There are always people on hand to give you information on the local area. The location is perfect as it is at the start of one of the main pedestrianised streets of Valkenburg. more
