I knew what to expect of the hotel before arriving as i had used it in the past.I also used the bar there regularly when I lived about a mile from the hotel for a few years. The hotel is ideal as a base to explore the South Coast and visiting Cagliari or Quartu although a car is essential. It... more

This hotel is not a 4 star, the staff are extremely miserable and don't know how to smile, they make you feel like you are a nuisance just for ordering a drink or asking a question, there is nothing nearby and a taxi to the nearest town Cagliari is 30 euros each way. The facilities consist of a swimming pool... more

Booked at last minute and wish that we hadn't. In a nutshell; had to have two rooms, despite booking a suite (I shared with my son, my wife shared with my daughter), rude staff, incredibly filthfy surroundings, no beach for miles, the place full of boisterous teenagers (not a problem in itself, but they often took over the pool at... more

Visited August 07 - We had booked the Setar Palace some ten weeks in advance but on arrival were told that it had been overbooked. We were transferred to their sister hotel called "The Grand" (Torre) some 200 metres away. Although advertised as 4 star on the board outside it was very poor and a borderline UK 2 star standard.... more

BEWARE - Don't believe the hype on the web-site for this hotel - it just doesn't live up to it at all. We booked to stay at this hotel as a bit of a last minute thing, but having looked at the web-site it seemed to offer quite a lot in terms of facilities. Upon arrival (quite late due to... more

We met some fellow travellers at the hotel, who said that this site had given the Hotel Setar a bad review. However, I have not found the review on this site, so can only assume that they were looking at something else. The hotel staff were very friendly, the food was excellent and the cost was very reasonable. Beds were... more

Two-centre holiday in Sardinia with 2 day stopover in Rome en route we put together ourselves booking flights, carhire, hotels direct on internet. We stayed here for 4 nights B&B after driving down from Alghero, having spent 5 days there. As a base, we wanted a beach hotel near but not in Cagliari (a large traffic clogged town). Despite it... more

In a word avoid it like the plague. Stuck in the middle of nowhere.we came across the worst and rudest staff in the world.Guests are treated like inconviences.Food awful Olympic sized swimming pool policed by " mad pool keeper" put a toe in the water without a swimming cap on and you will be humiliated and shot. AWFUL BAD WORST... more

We decided to go to sardinia for our honeymoon and we wouldn't recommend the Setar to anybody. 4star it isn't. We were told that we would be picked up from the airport via hotel bus:this doesn't exist so expect to pay 30-50 euros each way and agree a price before you get in the taxi. The hotel is also meant... more

My wife and I stayed B & B at the Setar Palace in mid September. The room was good, although not 4 star, but the Hotel was empty! and the Quattro Torre Hotel on the same site was closed. The bar was all but deserted in the evenings and there was no entertainment. TV in the rooms is 100% Italian.... more
