Some of the staff are fabulous such as the restaurant staff whilst some are poor such as the experience I had at checkout. Same goes for much of the experience - Fabulous view of the sea and great water pressure in the shower against a dubious lift and smell of chlorine in reception from the pool.

I stayed a night here on business. It was pleasant on the seafront. I had a room that was fine but overlooked the car park and council estate at the rear. The room was really hot and the windows could only be opened a couple of inches. The restaurant was pleasant and the set dinner "a taste of the North" was... More

Stayed here for 1 night. Reasonable amount of on site parking. Warm welcome given a suite with a sitting area at the end of a corridor with a sea view. Great bed and decent bathroom. Poor weather meant we dined in and it was fine. Bar with service, can be a rarity, friendly waitresses. Good price too for the standard.

Booked in for an overnight stay, this in a great location, we had large pleasant looking room and eventually a friendly welcome. Overnight our room turned into a sauna with no visible means of controlling the temperature, and after a sleepless night we were ready for a leisurely breakfast. Unfortunately the female staff in the dining room seemed indifferent, the... More

Can't review the hotel from an overnight stay point of view but for somewhere different to dine its a must! I suspect it suffers from it not being very welcoming to non residents - you have to negotiate a barrier and wander into the car park to get in - but the staff are friendly and welcoming and the food... My colleague and I stayed here for one night - at check in we were told the resteraunt was closed due to an earlier incident in the day ! The room itself was a double double superior which was nice and big with two double beds, mine was fine but my colleagues was sagging at the bottom, but overall we... More

A bit of a mixed bag - lots of good points including spacious rooms, great views, location and staff friendliness. The rooms are very big and decor quite attractive but some of the communal areas are a bit outdated and showing their age. On the positive side we found the spot perfect for visiting Sunderland and within walking distance for... More

You tend to know what you re getting with a chain hotel, this is no exception. It is an ugly building, like a few others on what is a lovely bit of coast. However, inside it I fine, and the staff are great. My room, overlooking the beach was massive. It was spotless too. It is a really good option... More
