We travel to Norway at least once a year and always stay overnight at Gardermoen the night before we leave Norway. We have stayed at the old Gjestegård hotel, and it was your basic, 2 star budget hotel. It was kinda of charming in an old fashioned way, and I thought the rooms were more than accommodating in a very basic needs kind of way. I would compare it to the travel lodge's that you find along the motorways in Britain. Of all of the hotels in the Gardermoen area, the Gjestegård hotel is one of only 2 hotels that has rooms to accomodate a party larger than 2. We have 2 kids, but don't want to split up into 2 rooms. Norway is extremely expensive and a budget hotel in Norway is the same price as an upscale hotel in the US would. We were pleasantly surprised when we showed up at the new and improved Gjestegård with 2 tired and grumpy kids. The people checking us in were extremely helpful, quick, and pleasant.
