This is an incredible family run, and family owned for hundreds of years, manor home. As you meander up the long driveway, passing the 1600 sheep that roam the property, you feel like you are moving back in time. The house is huge and imposing with portraits of ancestors mixed in with current family shots. The three family dogs (vanilla,... More

I discovered Temple House in "Hidden Ireland" so I knew it must be good. I had not reckoned on just what a wonderful gem of a place it is. It has been in the Perceval family for 350 years so there is an amazing feeling of continuity. This is no ordinary country house hotel, it is a family home brilliantly... More

We stayed 3 nights in Temple House at the end of September. Spotless and friendly service provided by Roderick, unique historical surroundings and long dinner discussions with other guests made our stay unforgettable and were really a highlight of our Ireland trip. We found Temple House from Hidden Ireland website. Hidden Ireland is a group of independent historical B&Bs spread... More

Just proceeding along the very long drive before the impressive building comes into view gives one a taste of things to come. This stunning 300+ year old family home is extraordinary, a massive stately home of 90 rooms, all of which are enormous by modern standards, with about 1,000 acres of grounds (also a working sheep farm), currently run by... I had originally found Temple House in the Rick Steve's travel guide, which definitely did not prepare us for the wonderful surprises that lay ahead. Looking over all the comments, every detail is exactly as it really is. Additionally, with all the hotels and other B&Bs my daughter and I stayed in during our two weeks in Ireland, Temple House... Thoroughly recommend this place if you are looking for a B&B with a difference. What a beautiful home. Stayed here for two nights, with dinner. Wonderfully relaxing, and a great way to meet interesting people. The communal dining is fun; though the idea somewhat nerve-wracking, as you don't know who you will end up at table with. My guy found... More

My husband and I wanted to end our trip in Ireland by staying somewhere special. From the moment we drove up the long drive, we knew we had picked the perfect spot. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Rodderick who made us feel very welcome and more like a friend coming for a visit than a hotel guest.... More

The ambiance links the age of knights to Georgian splendour, to modernity...It was the perfect place to stop for a search for my husband's Irish Kingly roots! Yes, we had a couple of nights in an ancient irsh cottage, climbed to Carrokeel tombs and climbed the walls to a special ancient fortress, but this was definitely a highlight. Be sure... More

Certainly one of the best for us in 30+ years of traveling. What's not to like? A centuries-old country estate in the same family for whgenreationat is it Roderick 16 generations? A gargantuan room (the half-acre) overlooking fields of grazing sheep. A delightful dinner with the other guests, current and former owners (Percevals fils et pere) and their wives. Opportunities... I joined TripAdvisor specifically so that I could offer a review of this brilliant hotel. My wife and I and our 12 year old daughter stayed here for three nights in June 2010, during a spate of particularly lovely dry weather. From the moment you enter the gateway, passing through sheep pasture and open woodland, and then see the huge... More
