A great place to stop for a night or two enroute to the Kauri forest/Cape Reinga. Wonderful surrounds, comfortable and clean accommodation, warm, generous hosts and a plethora of activities to keep the kids entertained. We stayed two nights in March 2012 and Fran's excellent cooking spoiled us for the rest of the trip. Ian and Fran were wonderful hosts, our room was spacious with a living, kitchen, bedroom and bath. Sitting in the jacuzzi on the edge of the forest was delightful. I would definitely recommend this lodge while staying on the north island. More
