After a rather rubbish day we thought we'd cheer ourselves up and go and stay somewhere for the night. After a quick Google, we spotted The Oak Tree. We booked a double room for £60 B&B and set off straight away. As soon as we arrived we were impressed with the quality of the finish of the building. It looked... More

I stayed here with my boyfriend for a weekend break back in October. The bedroom was lovely with a really nice bathroom (power shower AND bath). The breakfast was great although we had dinner there and while it was tasty, the portions were a little small (hence 4/5 rating). Pub downstairs also has a really nice atmosphere. Staff were happy... We enjoyed a wonderful meal in the private dining area. Staff were attentive, polite and welcoming. The menu is extensive and very good value for money. We have been before and they do special offers early evening. Although we haven't stayed in the rooms we know of family members who have and thoroughly enjoyed their stay. They can also tailor... slick and professional service, good wine, yorkshire platter nice as was my partners burger, the only reason it hasnt got a 5 star is because the chocolate fondant dessert wasnt cooked long enough and was like eating a ramekin of chocolate sauce rather than a sponge with a meltingly soft velvety centre.many thanks and we shall return

Enjoyed spending 2 nights here in April. King size room had comfy bed, was clean and bathroom has spa bath and good selection of toiletries. Good very good - very generous on portions - and service relaxed but efficient. Good wine list and range of beers and whiskies. Would go back.

We were here last night for a family party (in the private function room) and stayed the night. In a nutshell: great & friendly staff, very nice interior and atmosphere, good food (dinner), a comfy bed in a great room (L'Occitane bathroom goodies and hot drink facilities in the room) and the best breakfast ever that consisted of fresh fruit,... Wanted a B&B on our way back from our holiday with somewhere to have a evening meal. Wow what a fantastic find. Booked with late rooms and got the king size room for a bargain price. Thick towels, every hot drink available in the room and attention to detail with cleaning and presentation. The evening meal was all home cooked... More
