We decided to stay at Nirvana for a night as we were in the area, and we had a great experience. The area around Nirvana is desert and when you enter Nirvana, it's an oasis. The staff were very good to us. The manager came over at least once and shook our hands and ensured everything was ok. I liked... More

My family likes to hang out at 4-5 star hotels/resorts both during the week as well as on weekends. We initially visited Nirvana Restaurant Retreat a few months ago and were not impressed with our first experience. Food was decent, service staff and management lacked spirit of service, pool water did not appear clean, overly formal environment, not a kid/family... More

Five of us included Nirvana in a day long adventure to Le Gruta and Atontonilco. What a treat. We had a beautiful lunch on the lawn overlooking the swimming pool and gardens. The lunch included ginger margaritas and beautifully prepared and presented food. We each had something different from their menu and no one was disappointed. Juan Carlos, the owner-chef... More

We stayed a night at Nirvana on our way to Guanajuato from San Miguel. The property is lovely. Warm relaxing thermal spring pool, large comfortable rooms and a friendly staff. We had a nice sunset dinner on the patio. The next morning we were able to walk to Atotonilco before breakfast. All in all a great experience. More

This is our second stay at Nirvana and it equaled or exceeded the previous one in all respects. Juan Carlos and Anna are the perfect hosts and the rest of the staff are helpful and friendly and do all they can to make you welcome. I will review the food and dining separately as they deserve their own space. Don't... More

I just can't say enough about this retreat. We usually don't spend this amount for lodging, especially in Mexico, however this was a special treat for our anniversary and we weren't disappointed. I actually can't think of one thing that was disappointing. On the contrary, from our arrival to our departure, every detail was perfecto! All staff were professional without... More

LOCATION: 10 minutes driving from San Miguel's downtown in a beautiful countryside ranch. The area has a great weather year-round and it's rich in thermal springs. The beautiful Aotonilco sanctuary (UNESCO's world heritage site) is within walking (or biking) distance. SERVICE: Guests are taken care of personally by owners Juan Carlos & Ana Laura and a great staff of hard... More

My wife and I spent a night here and dined in the restaurant for our 16th wedding anniversary. Juan Carlos, the owner, was there to greet us on checkin. He is most gracious. Herbert, our waiter, is as good as they get, setting up a private table for us on an out of the way terrace for a candlelight dinner.... More
